They're already married. So they threw a party to drink sake.

Rab + Itsuka met working for a Japanese recruitment firm and moved to Osaka, Japan for 3 years. They married there, and upon moving back to Atlanta, decided love should be celebrated with closest friends and family. Since they were already married, their anniversary day focused on fun “gameshow” style couple’s games, live music with a childhood friends’ band, and 2 different sake ceremonies.
Sakazukigoto: this is a traditional sharing of sake done by some Japanese couples where a family member ceremonially pours sake into three cups of different sizes, twice; once for the groom and once for the bride.
Kagamibiraki: this is another traditional Japanese ceremony. The bride and groom pretend to break open a sake barrel, and take a drink out of it--kind of like the sharing of champagne in a western wedding; after this, guests can take some too !

The whole evening was really fun, festive, and down to earth.
